I've created this page because I want to make a difference. I'm inspired by the work of Guide Dogs NSW/ACT and wanted to support them by raising money as part of my participation in The 2017 Sun-Herald City2Surf presented by Westpac. I was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa when I was 7 years old. I began using a long cane when I was in primary school and become blind when I was 14. Guide Dogs have been supporting me ever since. This year will be my 5th time participating in the City2Surf and I am looking forward to facing the challenge once more. It will be my first time running on behalf of Guide Dogs NSW/ACT.
The City2Surf is an amazing running event and always fun to participate in. You meet people from all walks of life; it’s a beautiful day filled with laughs and positive energy.Anyone can get involved, whether you walk, run or jog.
I will be accompanied by a team of aids, who will guide me along the 14 kilometre course from Hyde Park to Bondi beach. Training includes fitness groups, outdoor running and using a treadmill when a running guide isn’t available.
I really enjoy running events because they are a great way to maintain positive health and wellbeing. Most importantly though, events like City2Surf are a great way to meet people and spend a day out with friends.
Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. The more people that know about Guide Dogs NSW/ACT, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
