My Story

I think this will be my 9th (or 10th) City2Surf, in Sydney. Maybe you know, it’s the largest fun run – in the world !! Over 80,000 runners and funners. It’s great to be involved, I just get a bit slower each year.
This year is a special one, with my daughter Sarah, we are entering to support “Team Arden”.
Our Sarah and Stacey Palmer were at school together and we’ve seen Stacey grow to a woman and now a first time mother. Stacey’s like a daughter to us, she’s had more dinners with us than most.
Stacey and Tahmon’s little boy Arden was born on 17 March with Severe Aortic Stenosis. Little Arden has undergone countless procedures in his 3 months of life and is still yet to come home. Arden is a little fighter with a smile that lights up the room. The team at Westmead’s Children Hospital are an amazing bunch and have been by Arden, Stace and Tah’s side every step of the way. Completing this year’s City-2-Surf and raising funds for the PICU Team at Westmead Children’s Hospital is just a small way to say thank you for everything they have done and continue to do for our beautiful friends.
For me, City2Surf is like a ‘walk-a-thon’. Fourteen tough kilometres. I am asking for your support – will you sponsor me $1 per kilometre, $14. Or an amount per kilometre? I am happy for you to put a load on me, make me work for your generous gift !
Please help us help Westmead Kid’s Hospital by giving whatever you can using the ‘Give Now’ button and select either “Opa Tomm” or “Aunty Mizo” on the Team Members buttons. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means the world!

Blob

Our little man Arden Wolfe Zenzmaier has spent the duration of his life (almost 5 months) in the PICU at Westmead Children's Hospital.
Born with Severe Aortic Stenosis he has endured 9 surgeries, 5 days on ECMO (life support), 6+ weeks intubated, 9+ procedures, 17+ invasive blood tests, 15+ Echocardiograms, 40+ XRays, a number of scans and blood transfusions, 10+ ECG's, going on 9 weeks of heavy antibiotics.. and the list goes on.

We are incredibly grateful for everything the PICU team has done to keep our little fighter alive and with your support would love to give something back. Donations go towards specialised training, education and research for the team of dedicated professionals. Their goal this year is to raise $60k. You will be paying tribute to the courage and spirit of the critically-ill children they care for each year which includes our brave little man Arden.

To help the PICU we are taking part in the City to Surf 2017 and running/walking for our son Arden. So if you would like to help and either run/walk or donate toward ‘Team Arden’ below are some details of how you can do that.
