This year will mark my 47th consecutive City2Surf and I have decided to take the challenge even further by raising funds to support the more than 61,500 children treated at Sydney Children's Hospital, l Randwick each year. With your support I am hoping to fund 2 critical pieces of equipment to help seriously ill and injured children.
Sydney Children’s Hospital need $18,280 to fund an ambulatory EEG device to assist neurologists to treat children with epilepsy. Decisions like choosing between a clinical event, treatment with anti-epileptic medication or surgery are difficult to make solely on clinical grounds so this equipment is vital for ensuring young patients receive the best possible care.
In addition, I would like to raise a further $7,700 to fund a highly specialised stroller to help young children following a severe injury, such as a brain injury. It allows them to move freely around within the Hospital or get out of the Hospital with their family even just for a short while.
Today I’m asking you to dig deep for all the young patients at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.
Thank you for your generosity
